Biognosis
As you can read within the box on the right hand, biognosis is a not that common synonym for biomimicry respectively similar expressions for “working out how nature does it”. The expression “biognosis” was chosen exactly for its rareness, in order to encompass all the different expressions which are used worldwide.

Mission
The publisher of this blog is convinced that to observe, understand and learn how to meet challenges the “natural” way is the most promising strategy to solve our actual problems. Therefore a capacious article compilation is offered. With few exceptions, the published articles are to be found within the world wide web, linked to their original sources. This blog is meant to provide information and promote the efforts of people, research institutions and companies to make biological knowledge applicably.

Bio-Cybernetics
Biological systems are highly complex. Linear cause-and-effect chains are rare, which makes it difficult to explore, understand and apply biocybernetics. However, to learn from nature is especially interesting when it comes to robust yet adaptable cylce process design, sustainability and self-organisation.

Design
To design products inspired by nature does not mean to merely copy or mimic. It’s about understanding and applying the underlying solution principles – and that is all but trivial.
